Ridgetop's core competencies include nanometer technology integrated circuit (IC) design, reliability-engineering semiconductor IPs, solder joint prognostic IP, radiation-hardened (rad-hard) IC designs and digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) for both normal and harsh environments. These solutions are ideally suited for aerospace, automotive, industrial and medical mission-critical applications where unexpected failure is not an option. Ridgetop has built an impressive list of customers in North America, Europe and Asia.
Ridgetop is an accredited U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Category 1A Trusted Integrated Circuit Supplier for Design Services. With a strong management team and world-class technical staff, Ridgetop has established a stellar reputation serving its government and commercial customers with best of class research and development, electronics and integrated circuit design solutions.
Products and Services
Ridgetop's leading edge, solution-based products support a wide range of designs for harsh environments. Customers include major aerospace system builders, telecommunication firms, imaging system manufacturers and consumer electronics.
Products
Ridgetop and Microsemi SoC Products Group have joined together to deliver an industry-leading Ball Grid Array Solder Joint BIST IP product to FPGA designers. Microsemi's FPGAs are ideally suited for new electronic designs because of their flexibility in widely used high-density BGA packages, which rely upon individual solder balls to attach the FPGA to a printed circuit board. These BGAs are subject to wear and failure from movement caused by thermal cycling and vibration.
Using a unique patented method, Ridgetop's IP consists of an easily instantiated real-time monitoring IP block for FPGAs used in harsh, high-vibration environments where early detection of problems is warranted. SJ BIST provides a prognostic sensor for monitoring critical solder joints, allowing programmers to integrate early warning systems for pending BGA pin failure into their high-reliability projects. The addition of this technology to Microsemi's FPGA line adds a prognostic feature set that is paramount for mission-critical applications where unexpected failure is not an option. Ridgetop's SJ BIST product has been rigorously tested by major automotive companies, U.S. government prime contractors and NASA.
Through the agreement with Microsemi, Ridgetop Group will add its validated SJ BIST IP module to Microsemi's third-party IP partnership program's library blocks.

Other Ridgetop Group Capabilities
Prognostics can be defined as predictive diagnostics and enables advanced methods of supporting condition-based maintenance (CBM) and overall integrated vehicle health management systems (IVHM).
Ridgetop's approach is based on extraction of signatures that precede failure of a system. This is referred to as the fault-to-failure progression (FFP). Applying prognostic methods, there can be sufficient time to take mitigating actions to assure continued operation of the system.

RingDown Power Prognostics - Product Brief
Ridgetop's semiconductor products encompass a wide range of high performance mixed signal designs for harsh environments. Customers have included aerospace system builders, telecommunication firms, imaging system manufacturers, and consumer electronics.
Key custom design capabilities have been demonstrated in the design of high performance analog / mixed signal electronics and application of radiation hardening expertise for ICs used in space satellites.
- Sentinel Network™
Sentinel Network™ comprises prognostics and health management (PHM) technologies to reduce support and maintenance costs. These technologies depend on algorithm-based fault prediction and root-cause identification tools. The Sentinel Network platform prognostic tools combine network discovery tools as well as a troubleshooting environment to create test sequencing algorithms for complex network systems. This innovative approach captures network architecture, interfaces, tests and procedures, and then links these failures to other built-in tests, troubleshooting steps and repair procedures.

- YieldMaxx™
The quick identification and correction of yield problems is an imperative issue that can be solved simply by YieldMaxx. Interfacing through an API with independent die-level process monitoring tools, YieldMaxx integrates large volumes of disparate data to provide accurate yield analysis in a matter of minutes. The user is able to correct the disparity faster due to an automated test equipment database. The software analyzes and presents standard on-die, parametric data measurements of key performance parameters, such as threshold voltage, resistance, and capacitance.
- TopAct ©
Translation Optimization for Part-wise Adaptive Combinatorial Transport (TopAct) allows easy translation of data between CAD (computer-aided drawing) models into inputs for radiation transport analysis. TopAct represents tremendous savings in time and money by providing time-efficient, high fidelity models and eliminating the need for manual generation of models via combinatorial geometry (CG). TopAct allows designers to use lighter, cost-effective designs with more accessible parts, which provides a better value overall.
Services
Ridgetop designs effective radiation-hardening tools, test structure libraries and mixed signal IP cores for demanding applications. Ridgetop also provides independent engineering assessments of radiation vulnerability of critical systems in space satellites, and foundry capabilities.
