MeLT792 - Metallic Line Test Chipset (MeLT)
Overview
Software Delivery System Support PortalThe Microsemi MeLT solution is based on the ZL75816 Driver and Test Access Switch (DTAS) and the ZL79258 NGSLAC Processor. The solution is a highly integrated chip set that address the requirement of consuming a very small PCB area with a minimal number of devices.
The ZL75816 DTAS integrates a 16 channel high voltage Multiplexer, a driver that is capable of driving up to 32 lines, a switching regulator controller that with external circuitry is capable of providing the required positive and negative batteries for up to 128 lines and integrated protection that is provided per line. Two power supply reference designs are available with different current ratings to optimize cost versus power trade offs that are system dependent.
The NGSLAC Processor provides low level processing, control functions, the required A/D and D/A communication channels. One channel of the NGSLAC Processor is required for each driver.
The MeLT test algorithms are robust and field proven. Test suites with accuracies are published by Microsemi. Access switch application is gentle and will not cause a CRC error or affect data rate of the G.Fast of xDSL signal.
