IEEE 1588 PLLs and Software
IEEE 1588 is a protocol based synchronization mechanism useful for existing, unaware networks where frequency Syntonization is required. When coupled with physical layer technologies such as Synchronous Ethernet, IEEE 1588 can also provide robust Time Alignment.
