Description
Microsemi offers PIN Limiter Diodes in ceramic and surface mount page options, including SOT23, GigaMite and MMSM packages.GC4700 SeriesThe GC4700 series ceramic packaged diodes are specially processed PIN diodes designed for use in passive or active limiters at frequencies through Ku band. Thirteen categories of devices are offered for flexibility in design of low, medium and high power limiters. Low VB limiters have thinner I regions for faster turn-on time and better flat leakage. Microsemi also manufactures “gold doped” limiters for fastest turn on time. In addition, we manufacture high voltage dual junction limiters for superior peak and CW power handling.

GML4700 SeriesThe GML4701-GM1 is specifically designed for high volume surface mount applications. The GigaMite design is optimized for improved electrical and thermal performance over standard plastic package technology. The result is higher frequency coverage and better power handling than comparable plastic packages. Product parameters have been optimized limiter applications. The Gigamite package parasitics provide smooth non-resonant functionality through 5Ghz. Microsemi utilizes high quality dielectric materials resulting in low loss and broadband performance.

MPL4700 SeriesThe MPL4700 Series utilize the new and unique MMSM technology. MMSM provides package/device integration at the wafer fabrication level. Since the cathode and anode interconnections utilize precision photolitographic techniques rather than wire bonds, parasitic package inductance is tightly controlled. The package parasitics provide smooth non-resonant functionality through X band.
