Microsemi recently acquired Vectron's SAW products.When good signal–to–noise ratio in RF transmission systems or outstanding noise floor in oscillator signals is essential, increased signal power level is a key approach. Small size is certainly one of the main advantages of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filters versus competing technologies. However, small sized combined with high power levels increases risk of power-related failure modes in highly miniaturized solutions. Vectron’s innovative technologies enable development of SAW component solutions with substantially increased power handling compared to current standard SAW alternatives.
