Overview
The LX1732 is compact, high efficiency, step-up DC-DC boost regulator. It features advanced BiCMOS process technology, variable frequency operation, and a built in N- channel power switch for optimal operation in low voltage portable systems. Utilizing an external schottky diode, the forward voltage drop can be minimized allowing for extremely high efficiency operation under light load conditions. The LX1732 control circuitry is optimized for portable systems with a typical quiescent supply current of only 16µA. The LX1732 also features a low battery-detect circuitry that alerts system power management of low input voltages allowing portable systems to enter a power-savings mode to protect data. Start-up operation is guaranteed from 1.1V inputs while the input voltage can be as low as 0.7V after start-up. This feature allows the LX1732 to operate in an extended power-savings mode, supplying data critical system components, after battery capacity no longer supports normal operation. The LX1732 has a preset, pin-selectable output for 5V or 3.3V. The output can also be programmed from 2.2V to 5V, using two external resistors via the feedback pin. This device has a 800mW N-channel MOSFET power switch with a 1.25A maximum current limit allowing a continuous supply current of more than 300mA. Key Features
