Things to do in Palm Springs - http://www.palmspringsusa.com/visit

In January, when most of the northern hemisphere is shivering, what could be better than a few days in Palm Springs, California? This area is famous for its climate, but you can’t miss the unique desert beauty and culture. Rich in history and famous for its inspiring scenery, Palm Springs is truly a jewel among desert cities. Whatever your interest—golf, hiking, museums, or entertainment — you’ll find plenty of reasons to extend your stay.

For golfers, the greater Palm Springs area offers more than 100 of the world’s most beautiful courses. Play a round on one of the lush greens you’ve probably seen when the pros play on TV. Tour the nearby Indian Canyons and experience their unique beauty, mystery and power. Located on tribal land, the canyons are just five minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Before you leave, visit a trading post for some original souvenirs to take home.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has been delighting visitors for more than 30 years with a short trip from the desert floor to an alpine forest at 8,516 feet. The tramway features state-of-the art tramcars with rotating floors designed to give spectacular views of the mountains and valley below to every rider, on every trip!

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is one of the Coachella Valley’s most unique tourist attractions, giving visitors a complete introduction to the natural desert’s animals and plants. Children are especially fond of “critter close-ups,” a chance to see and touch small desert animals—tortoises, snakes, and birds.

For those whose pleasures involve something other than the great outdoors, there’s always El Paseo Shopping Avenue with more than 250 delightful discoveries, including enchanting shops and boutiques featuring fashion, jewelry, art, home, spas, dining, and more.

Palm Springs invites you to enjoy January in the desert Southwest. See what adventures await you at www.palmspringsusa.com. Join us in sunny California for a unique and unforgettable experience.
