Microsemi University: Getting Started with maxCryptoTM
By now you have probably heard of, and perhaps even already bought, our new maxCrypto controller-based encryption enabled SmartRAID 3162 SAS/SATA RAID adapter.
The SmartRAID 3162-8i /e offers the most secure, high performance solution for data centers requiring maximum I/O connectivity and low latency. MaxCryptoTM ensures that customer sensitive data is encrypted and protected by secure 256 bit AES, in-line encryption. As soon as the unique maxCryptoTM key associated with a specific controller is removed, data is unreadable.
The SmartRAID 3162 adapter is kicking off our new Microsemi University School of Smart Storage Adapters series of “How-To” videos.
In our first training video, Getting Started with maxCryptoTM, John Borz, Microsemi SmartRAID applications engineer, will demonstrate configuring maxCrypto.
The demonstration includes:
• Configuring a RAID-0 volume
• Writing a data block
• Verifying the plaintext data
• Encrypting the volume
• Verifying the encrypted data
Familiar tools available for configuration of maxCryptoTM include arcconf, HII, and maxView.
