PoH/PoE+ 2-pairs/4-pairs PD front end. It supports IEEE802.3af, IEEE802at, HDBaseT and general 2/4-pair configurations. The PD70210A includes an advanced classification block that supports 2, 3, 4 and 6 event classification. Using the SUPP_Sx pins, it also identifies which of the four pairs of the cable are actually receiving power and generates appropriate flags. The IC features an internal bleeder for discharging the input capacitor of the DC/DC converter rapidly, so as to ensure fast re-detection and port power-up in case of sudden removal and re-insertion of the Ethernet cable into the RJ-45.
The PD70210A requires an external DC/DC controller IC to convert PoE voltages into the voltages used in a PD. Microsemi recommends the following products:
a) LX7309: Synchronous PWM Controller w/pulse skipping, for high efficiency Flyback, Forward w/Active Clamp and Buck designs.
b) LX27901: Synchronous LLC Controller w/pulse skipping, for very high efficiency and low noise LLC designs.
